Rise Inspire Academy provides a high quality education and a recovery-oriented student life for high school-aged youth. This innovative program, created by Rise Recovery and partner BRAINATION, is centered on high school students seeking sobriety from drugs and alcohol in a safe, understanding and positive academic environment. Rise Recovery is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to help teens, young adults and families overcome the effects of drugs and alcohol and partner with the community in education and prevention. Through support groups, recovery mentoring, peer coaching, prevention education and longstanding partnerships, Rise Recovery transforms the lives of thousands of individuals and families each year. BRAINATION is at the forefront of innovative facilitating and learning methods. They have redefined traditional approaches to education and are becoming a leader in world-class learning—helping students to become expert learners and leaders, encouraging students to lead principle-centered lives, and inspiring students to belong, be great, and find joy. A parent of one Rise Inspire Academy student expressed it best, “I was broken and desperate for a program like [this]. My teenager is able to focus on her academics and receive services for sustaining sobriety. My teenager enjoys going to high school every day…[and] wants to continue to obtain sobriety. Rise has helped me tremendously with continuing to navigate a healthy path for myself and family.”

At AHISD, students are at the center of every decision. Our goal is to prepare our students for the future and create a learning experience where each student can thrive. In a world that is ever-evolving and advancing, AHISD hopes to accord its students the skills necessary for a successful and balanced life.
The AHISD Profile of a Learner depicts all that we, as a district, embody. This document provides teachers with a roadmap for creating learning experiences for students with the hope that ultimately, each student can feel they have bloomed into an individual ready for his or her personal future.
Our classroom environments are learner-centered workplaces with a collaborative culture where students are at work utilizing communication, creativity, digital literacy, critical thinking, and problem-solving with the Profile of a Learner as the driving force.
As a district, we understand that ongoing support for our teachers is key to making these classrooms a success. Each teacher works alongside an instructional coach to design work that is aligned with best practices in teaching, future-ready skills, and the AHISD Profile of Learner.
With the Profile of a Learner as our roadmap, our district is committed to preparing our students to become active, successful, and contributing members of society.

SAISD is as diverse and historically rich as the city whose name it shares. As San Antonio’s founding school district, SAISD neighborhood schools have served the heart of the Alamo City for more than 100 years. Today, SAISD serves about 47,000 students across more than 90 schools in our culturally proud, urban community.
We offer a wide variety of programs, including dual-language, career exploration and college-preparation. Along with traditional school models, we also offer academies comprising non-traditional grade ranges such as PK-8.
True to our roots, SAISD continues to pave the way in San Antonio with the city’s only public Montessori school, single-gender campuses, and K-12 International Baccalaureate framework. Additionally, the District has grown 5 P-TECH programs in just a few years.
Outside of the traditional classroom, the spirit of SAISD can be found in programs and activities from extensive athletics to fine arts – including a mariachi curriculum that was pioneered in our District before being modeled across the nation.
From forward-thinking academic and extracurricular programs at our neighborhood schools to a growing list of specialized schools, SAISD students can customize their own educational experience and find what truly drives them. Every student has a journey, and SAISD is supporting that path wherever it may lead for each of its students.
