There are a gazillion and one lunch box note printables out there (don’t believe me? ask Pinterest!), but none that we felt are great for older kiddos. We craved some with a little less mushy-gushy and more fist bump/be nice/you rock messages. In our extended crew, we have a lot of older kids, who still secretly appreciate a note of love from Mom or Dad but prefer that said note not be too cutesy in case it’s found by a friend in the lunchroom.
Many of us have early elementary kiddos too, so we wanted a printable that would cover all of our bases. A note suitable for both big kids and little kids that struck an even balance of cute and cool was tough to find, so we made them ourselves!
These will easily print on card stock, scrapbook paper, or just printer paper, and you can add your own note on the back (or not). Simply slip one in your child’s backpack, lunch box, or binder after you check homework. I like to slide them in my husband’s wallet or roll one up and stick it in his key ring.
Everyone likes to be reminded that they are special and being thought of—and a kind word from home in the middle of the day is almost as good as a big hug from your child’s favorite person (yes, mama, that’s YOU!).
