Maya Womb/Abdominal therapy or “Sobadas de Matriz” (as they are known in Mexico and Central America), is an integrative health practice that goes back thousands of years. The purpose is to support the health of organs in the abdomen and bring health to the uterus by gently touching and positioning the organs, such as the uterus back into proper alignment. The uterus is a muscular organ that plays a big role, and when it is tilted it can cause pain, heavy periods, no periods, fertility issues, etc. When our organs have been exposed to traumatic experiences or an injury they can shift and press into other organs causing added and unnecessary discomfort.
