First on the agenda, a must-do: Sweet Berry Farms. This adorable, family owned farm has plenty of fun for everyone. Grab your little helpers and embark on a berry- or flower-picking adventure. Other activities available include feeding the farm’s adorable goats, painting flower pots, creating sand art, and bouncing on inflatables. In my opinion, you could easily play to spend 1-1.5 hours here, and it is truly friendly for all ages! And fear not, parents, the joy of plucking berries straight from the vine (and eating them shortly thereafter) provides an excellent distraction tactic for the inevitable “are we there yet?” moments. Be sure to check the farm’s website for the latest information on fruit and flower availability, but it’s generally a good rule of thumb to assume that strawberries will be available to pick from March to May.

Once your little fruit and flower bandits have worked up an appetite, it’s time to refuel at River City Grille. This joint isn’t just serving up scrumptious food, its a haven for weary parents in need of a break. We have three girls, and our youngest is just two years old, so I’ll be honest and say we do not go out to eat much. It is usually more work than its worth, because one of us is always chasing our youngest around so we don’t get to eat together.

However, some magical recipe of being on the patio at River City Grille, watching the boats and jet skis on the lake drift by, and the restaurant’s truly delicious food, left my husband and I truly amazed (shocked?!) by the end of our meal. Everyone sat together, ate their entire plate of food, and no one has to chase anyone else around. There were a lot of other families there with young kids, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and patient. Honestly, I have never had a better restaurant experience with littles… ever.

After a scrumptious meal, playtime by the lake awaits! Release your mini-adventurers onto the riverside walkway for fishing, or let them play in the sand in front of the public pool area. We spent a good 30-45 minutes here, and our kids had a blast climbing on the rock structures and building their own sand creations. Pro tip: throw some sand toys in the car before you leave home for even more fun!

As the day winds down, treat yourselves to a sweet finale at Main Street Center. Ice cream and adult beverages anyone? This town center is the quintessential, small-town square.  Small mom and pop shops, boutiques, and bars pair perfectly with open areas for children to run around in. There are even spaces with giant xylophones for kids to play on, and family bathrooms that you don’t need to dread using. This was really the perfect way to end our day, because it let the kids run around a bit before we headed back to the car for the drive home.

To conclude, Marble Falls isn’t just a destination – it’s a laughter-filled playground waiting to be explored by families in need of some good old-fashioned fun! As an added bonus, in springtime Marble Falls boasts a wonderful display of bluebonnets and other wildflowers. So, what are you waiting for? Pack up the mini-van, grab your sense of adventure, and set off for a day of unforgettable escapades in this adorable Texas small town. Trust me, your kids will thank you (and you might just rediscover your inner child along the way). Let the giggles begin!
