The Guadalupe Latino Bookstore hosts first Texas Author Series of 2024 with an author reading by Dr. Carmen Tafolla. She is a poet, storyteller, performance artist, motivational speaker, cultural activist, Professor Emeritus, and a native of San Antonio’s Westside. A book signing and reception will take place with books such as “Warrior Girl,” which is on the list of finalists for the Tomas Rivera Children’s Book Award. The event is free and open to the public.
The Latino Bookstore hosts a free Texas Author Series every second Friday of the month at 6 p.m. The evening will be hosted by Tony Diaz, El Librotraficante, Literary Curator of the Latino Bookstore.
