At Shooting For Success, we’re so much more than basketball training. We are a youth and elite basketball organization dedicated to teaching athletes the correct basketball fundamentals, a better understanding of the game, and a set of core values we expect our players to demonstrate on and off the court. We offer basketball camp, weekly, throughout the summer and during school breaks. We also offer year-round private training, youth fundamentals small-group training, and have competitive club teams in various age divisions. SFS Founder and Lead Trainer, David ‘DJ’ Jones played professional basketball overseas and is known throughout the world as ‘The Shot Doctor’ for his shooting mechanics and training. Camp Champions is one of the top overnight camps in Texas, offering 1-, 2-, and 3-week sessions for campers aged 5-17.

The Gathering Place is a revolutionary new elementary school in San Antonio. The idea was born from Asia Klekowicz and Ryan York’s belief that kids, especially in historically underserved neighborhoods, don’t get a complete education. We spent 10 years teaching, leading, and seeing glimmers of what could be when teachers are trusted, kids are loved for who they are, and administrators don’t measure students by just test scores — but we never saw those pieces fully come together.
Inspired by what could be and disappointed by what was, we quit our jobs, pooled our savings, and traveled the country searching for schools where creativity flourished and every student and teacher was valued. On our journey, we found ourselves in San Antonio, fell in love with the people, and decided never to leave.
