The Gathering Place is a revolutionary new elementary school in San Antonio. The idea was born from Asia Klekowicz and Ryan York’s belief that kids, especially in historically underserved neighborhoods, don’t get a complete education. We spent 10 years teaching, leading, and seeing glimmers of what could be when teachers are trusted, kids are loved for who they are, and administrators don’t measure students by just test scores — but we never saw those pieces fully come together.
Inspired by what could be and disappointed by what was, we quit our jobs, pooled our savings, and traveled the country searching for schools where creativity flourished and every student and teacher was valued. On our journey, we found ourselves in San Antonio, fell in love with the people, and decided never to leave.

Brooks Academies Virtual Instruction program is open to all students who qualify. There is no cost for this program. Students must qualify and register at one of the Brooks Campuses to participate. The district provides laptops and all curriculum needed. All classes are taught by Texas-Certified teachers in real-time, and students may participate in their home campus sports, clubs, and events. At Shooting For Success, we’re so much more than basketball training. We are a youth and elite basketball organization dedicated to teaching athletes the correct basketball fundamentals, a better understanding of the game, and a set of core values we expect our players to demonstrate on and off the court. We offer basketball camp, weekly, throughout the summer and during school breaks. We also offer year-round private training, youth fundamentals small-group training, and have competitive club teams in various age divisions. SFS Founder and Lead Trainer, David ‘DJ’ Jones played professional basketball overseas and is known throughout the world as ‘The Shot Doctor’ for his shooting mechanics and training. Country Home’s extremely popular Summer Camp program includes all of our regular activities, our Kids’ Choice Special Interest Clubs, regularly scheduled field trips to swim, skate, bowl, and see movies, as well as special field trips to a wide variety of exciting local destinations. Our highly successful, reward-based Reading Program encourages academic exercises throughout the summer, while our wonderful facility affords us the opportunity to explore various themed rooms. The Palo Alto College Youth Summer Camp is a fantastic opportunity for students to participate in enriching experiences during their summer break! The program offers sessions for Palomino Adventure Youth Camp (Ages 5-7), PAC Athletics Sports Clinic (Ages 8-12), and STEM (6th grade-Incoming PAC Freshmen). Camp Champions is one of the top overnight camps in Texas, offering 1-, 2-, and 3-week sessions for campers aged 5-17.
In addition to exciting activities and an outstanding facility, Camp Champions (1) builds strong kids, (2) has the best staff, and (3) operates tech-free.
