Why I Loved Bloom with Alamo City Moms

Swollen feet. Back pain. Nausea. Pregnancy may be the miracle of life, but it sure isn’t comfortable! Many days I’m just in survival mode as my big baby belly and I try to keep up with all the life things—often forgetting to savor this special time. If you find yourself in this boat, I have a solution for you: Alamo City Moms’ Bloom Event!

Bloom is perfect for San Antonio’s new and growing families. It’s the ideal way to both celebrate your baby and learn tons of helpful information. While Bloom is typically an annual event, Alamo City Moms offered TWO dates this year in an effort to keep numbers small and mamas safe! I attended the May event and it was everything my pregnant soul needed.

First, let me say that the venue, local children’s boutique Crib & Kids, is beautifully stocked with everything baby. Cribs, strollers, clothes, carriers—if it’s on your registry, it’s there! I fell in love with this store during my time at Bloom. To make things even better, Alamo City Moms gathered San Antonio’s top professionals and retailers for mothers at this event. I started by getting all the latest details on labor and delivery from the lead nurse at North Central Baptist Hospital. Then I had a nice chat with my OB, got a massage from Massage Movil, and picked out a super cute “Mom” bracelet from Bexar Cub Bracelet Company. Whether you need a chiropractor, therapist, or babysitter, Bloom has it! As an attendee, you’ll also receive access to a virtual Q&A with ACM’s panel of professionals

It’s a good thing that one of the perks included with your ticket is an adorable tote bag, because you’re going to leave Bloom with an armful of goodies. You’ll even have a chance to win incredible prizes in the raffle! I looked like I went Black Friday shopping when I got home. One swag item I was particularly excited about was the FREE Mommy & Me photo session from Happy Thoughts Studio. I may or may not have been equally as excited for the mini bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes. After my fun night at Bloom, I set down the swag bags, put my feet up on the couch, and shamelessly consumed the entire thing. Eating for two, am I right?

If you’re expecting or have sweet Bebe (said in my best Moira Rose voice), treat yourself to a night out at Bloom with Alamo City Moms! The gals at ACM definitely captured the magic of motherhood while providing practical information and resources at the same time. You can purchase tickets for the upcoming event on September 16th here.  Don’t miss out, Mama! Grab your tickets before they’re gone.

Whitney
When Whitney fell in love with a handsome Texan, she just knew that someday they would call Texas home. Her three favorite things about San Antonio are the tacos, the family-friendly feel, and the school her children attend--Sunshine Cottage School for Deaf Children. Whitney is a former ninth grade English teacher and proud mama of two redheads nicknamed GingerSnap (daughter born in 2014) and GingerDude (son born in 2017). Her son is deaf and has bilateral cochlear implants. Sunshine Cottage provided all the tools needed to turn GingerDude into a little chatterbox and Whitney into the hearing loss/listening and spoken language advocate that she is. When she isn’t volunteering at Sunshine Cottage, Whitney spends her time serving in organizations at church, spreading awareness and encouragement on Instagram, and keeping the Weaver household in working order. She tries to make time each day to go for a run and her favorite thing to do on a Saturday is hike at a nearby state park with her family.
