Three Unique Wellness Services for Military Families at the Endeavors Veteran Wellness Center

This post is brought to you by Endeavors.

Less than two years ago Endeavors held a grand opening for the Veteran Wellness Center located on the northwest side of San Antonio. The 27,000-square-foot center is the first of its kind in the state of Texas.

Using an integrated approach to mental health care, physical health care, holistic treatments, and support services, Endeavors is able to help veterans and their families create a more fulfilling life. Think of our facility as a hub for integrated veteran care. Our clients have many needs, so we seek to address as many of those needs as possible under one roof.

The Endeavors Wellness Model represents Six Principles of Wellness: Spiritual, Mind-Body, Knowledge, Environmental, Connectedness, and Economic. We could go on about all of the amazing services Endeavors offers within those six principles but we want to highlight three unique offerings for military families, so keep reading!

The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic

The Veteran Wellness Center is home to The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic, a place where veterans and military families can receive free to low-cost services like mental health counseling, massage therapy, primary health care, specialty care services, occupational therapy, physical therapy, health consultations, nutritional support, case management, peer support, room reservations, educational training, and more.

We seek to provide comprehensive, effective, and innovative services that encourage growth, allowing people to build better lives for themselves, their families, and their communities.

As providers of more than just mental health care, our Cohen Clinics provide veterans, active duty service members, and military families with support and referrals for related needs, including employment, housing, financial assistance, legal issues, and education.

During clinic visits, take advantage of FREE on-site childcare.

Center of Connectivity

The connectedness room features an abundance of natural sunlight, wifi, and a cafe led by women veterans offering protein shakes, pastries, coffee, tea, and other items like lavender honey lemonade.

Whether you are stopping in after visiting the Cohen Clinic or the fitness center, or you simply came to enjoy the cafe and sunlight, this is a special space designed for reconnecting with yourself as well as with your community!

We know how hard it can be for veterans to share burdens with their families, so we designed the connectedness space to be a welcoming environment for all—an environment that helps make tough conversations less intimidating and allows veterans and their families to reconnect.

Stop by for a #HighlyVeteranated cup of java while you enjoy the connectedness space.

Fitness Center

Come try out our state-of-the-art Fitness Center! We offer accessible exercise equipment, health consultations, nutritional support, yoga classes, and individualized fitness training. (Take a look at our class schedule.)

We offer all clients access to free childcare whether they are visiting the gym or receiving any services in the wellness center.

We offer a sliding scale on membership pricing to ensure finances are never a barrier to care, so call us at 210-431-6466 or send us an email to find the membership that makes sense for you and your family!

Join us at our upcoming events!

We built the Veteran Wellness Center as a safe and supportive community space for veterans and their families. But everyone can benefit from a peaceful community space! That’s why we also invite our community members to use our common spaces and connectedness areas, host meetings in our designated areas, visit the cafe for coffee and snacks, and revitalize in our Wellness Room.

Join our mission to support veterans, active duty service members, and military families at the 1st Annual “Breakfast for the Brave” family event next Saturday, April 29, from 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. The event will be held at Chicken N Pickle, 5215 UTSA Boulevard, San Antonio, TX 78249.
