Sip, Shop, and Celebrate at Downtown Boerne’s Diva Night

Alamo City Moms Blog is excited to partner with Boerne Diva Night to share this sponsored post with information about the ladies only night of shopping, dining, and fun this November.

In my opinion, a night out with my best girlfriends drinking wine, shopping, dancing to great DJs is pretty close to perfect, and if you’ve ever been to Boerne’s Diva Night, you know it’s one of those rare events when all of this happens in one place. Diva Nights take place twice a year, Spring and Fall, in downtown Boerne, with this season’s taking place this Thursday, November 8th. There you’ll find the historic Hill Country Mile beautifully decorated for the holidays and alive with spunky groups of girlfriends walking arm and arm with shopping bags and loads of holiday spirit. You’ll find fun photo stations and DJs along the way, and the 20+ participating stores offer the best surprises—including fun cocktails and treats—that will make your night. (Word has it, a couple of stores even have professional photographers on hand so you can commemorate the event with a fun group pic with the girls!)

The fun begins at 5:00 p.m. and stores are saying open late—until 9 p.m.–and the first 400 people to arrive at either The Dienger Trading Co. (on the north end of Main Street) or The Flower Shop (south end) will receive feathered boas and tiaras, which always add lots of glam and makes for great photos. And with 22 shops along the Mile filled to the brim with new merchandise, you’ll be able jumpstart your holiday shopping, or better yet, treat yourself to that pair of earrings or snuggly leggings that you know are perfect for all of your upcoming events. Of course, Diva Night is about way more than shopping, it’s a wonderful night to share with friends, your mama—and yes, it’s perfect to bring your tween and teen daughters as well.

Last year was my first time attending Diva Night, and it has become a fixed entry on my calendar ever since. We had just moved to San Antonio a few months prior, and having come from a tight-knit suburb of Chicago, I was missing the sense of community that a big, expansive city often lacks. My mother-in-law and I headed up I-10, not knowing what to expect, and we had the best night ever. The crisp sweater weather gave us a joyful holiday feeling, and popping in and out of the stores while listening to music and enjoying drinks and sampling food had everyone in a great mood. We didn’t know a soul, but we immediately felt a part of the community because everyone was so warm and welcoming. It’s a feeling that’s common in a small town like Boerne, and on this particular night, the town’s hospitality shines. The holiday lights and décor make all of the shops really glitter and shine, and you get that first wave of excitement about the approaching holiday season. And of course, there’s just something about wearing a tiara and feathers  that puts everyone in such a festive mood, making Diva Night a great evening—and one worth putting on your calendar every year. Whether you head to Boerne with friends or your mom, aunt or sister, you’ll find your feet moving to the music, and you’ll appreciate the charm and character of all this small Texas town has to offer.
