A Trip to Enchanted Springs Ranch

My family and I were recently invited out to experience Enchanted Springs Ranch. This old west “theme park” located in Boerne, is a fun family outing.

This hidden old west town breaks from the traditional San Antonio summer outing and takes you a step back in time.

Enchanted Springs Ranch has served as a sometimes movie set and is recommended by Oprah and The History Channel.  It offers shows, pony rides, photo ops with Longhorns, and more as you walk around the town.

There’s even a cute “arrest a guest” that they do!

They were short staffed the day we went, canceling their stunt and other shows, but we did get to see Pistol Packin’ Paula and her gun slinging trick show.

Make sure to take a ride on their tractor around their grounds to see the zebras, Longhorns, turkeys, deer and more. You’ll get a little history lesson as the driver narrates about the land.

The Ranch is not as interactive or hands on for the minis as I would have liked because this town is mostly static displays, but it’s a great opportunity to add in your own fun activities for your kids.[divider_flat]

If I would have known about that in advance, I would have come up with learning activities to do while there such as scavenger hunt worksheets and the like to keep them more interested and entertained. Use your imagination and have fun with it! [divider_flat]

We tried to add a lesson in with each display we saw. Here’s Rayne  learning how clothes were washed and River seeing how gears work.

There is also a kids corral play area that we didn’t visit, but is available.
Coolers and picnics are welcome so feel free to pack a meal and stay for a while and explore!

Get a great coupon here that’s good until December 31, 2013 and save on your trip!
