The Best Baby Boutiques in San Antonio

There always seem to be lots of baby announcements in the spring, and if you’re anything like me, you’ve probably got a whole host of events to buy for in the coming months—birthdays, baby showers, gifts for new moms, and more. In the past couple of weeks, a number of friends and family members have reached out to me to ask about local baby boutiques where they might find sweet gifts for their expecting or new parent friends. I definitely take this as a compliment as I always strive to buy thoughtful and unique gifts.

Luckily, San Antonio has a number of shops that offer a one-stop option for busy moms looking for gifts. The only thing I love more than giving beautifully wrapped, thoughtful gifts for all occasions is supporting our local boutiques. Without further preamble, let’s get shopping!

1. Bambinos Boutique

255 E Basse Rd. #908, San Antonio, TX 78209 | Open Mon-Fri, 10am-6pm; Sat, 10am-5pm (closed Sun)

Located at The Quarry, Bambinos is probably the Alamo City’s oldest (and most loved) children’s boutique, serving local families for the past 29 years. Owner Karen is passionate about finding and promoting beautiful, luxurious childrenswear brands, as well as offering a bespoke monogramming service.

Bambinos is probably my favorite place to shop for my son, as I love the more classic style. Their selection of bubbles, jon-jons, smocking, sun suits, and polo shirts is definitely the best in the city (girls have a similarly lovely, if not better, selection). It’s extremely rare to go back to the shop and find the same stock, as they are constantly updating their inventory as items sell out.

If you’re looking for a gift for a baby shower or new mom, their selection of organic cotton items, swaddles, gowns, and sleepsuits is perfect. I wish I’d found their preemie rail when I needed it! Hats and clothing can be personalized with a monogram or design for any occasion, and they also have a range of christening/baptism attire and gifts (including silver cups, rattles, etc.). Birthdays—be they the first or beyond—and new sibling gifts are a breeze, while the boutique also carries a great range of high-quality wooden toys, cuddly soft toys, and books with a local flavor.

Busy moms can order online and collect in-store or curbside, all wrapped and ready to go.

2. Crib and Kids

1309 N Loop 1604 W #106, San Antonio, TX 78258 | Open Mon, Wed–Sat, 11am-5pm; Sun, 12–5pm (closed Tues)

Crib and Kids might not be your first thought for gifts rather than gear, but their selection of toys, clothes, and accessories is one of the best in the city—and definitely on par with their selection of strollers and car seats!

From imported soft toys by Jellycat (a favorite in our house) and locally-made dolls by Pops of Whimsy, to learning toys and pretend playthings by Melissa and Doug, Fat Brain Toys, and Djeco, there are lots of options for busy toddlers and older kids. For baby showers or newborns, you really can’t go wrong with a fun little outfit from Angel Dear and a sweet swaddle or sleep sack, or bathtime accessories (think: water thermometer, gentle skincare) and a hooded towel.

The best gifts I got as an expectant mom were high-quality, practical items that I could use every day without worry once my son arrived. While a registry can be a huge help, those tried-and-tested “one mom to another” gifts are always a favorite. If that’s your gift-giving style, too, then Crib and Kids is the San Antonio boutique for you.

3. Iva Style

555 W Bitters #126, San Antonio, TX 78216 | Open Tues–Fri, 10am–3:30pm; Sat, 10am–5pm; Sun, 11am–3pm (closed Mon)

Nestled among the artisans of The Alley on Bitters, Iva Style is a “lifestyle boutique” with a large but thoughtful selection of home decor, ladies’ fashion, toys, and infant and toddler apparel. Owned by San Antonio native Donna Rullo, an interior designer, artist, and children’s book author, this is a hidden gem for busy moms looking for all kinds of gifts.

Though not a baby boutique per se, Donna has curated a beautiful selection of high-quality clothing for babies and children, as well as adorable toys, books, and gifts. You are sure to find something perfect for a mom-to-be, first birthday, or beyond.

4. Nursery Couture

434 Loop 1604, #1104, San Antonio, TX 78232 (Ventura Plaza) | Open Mon–Fri, 10am-6pm; Sat, 10am–5pm (closed Sun)

Located off 1604 near Stone Oak (just a stone’s throw from North Central Baptist Hospital, if you’re truly last-minute gifting!), Nursery Couture is a beautiful boutique with a broad and absolutely adorable selection of baby clothing, gifts, nursery decor, and more.

If you can buy it there, they can monogram it! You can add a personal touch to most items, from swaddle blankets and baby bedding to soft toys, hats, clothing, diaper bags, and more.

Moms-to-be can register at Nursery Couture, but if they don’t, the friendly staff will happily help you find the perfect gift for the occasion.

5. Belles and Beaux

6430 N New Braunfels, San Antonio, TX 78209 | Open Mon–Fri, 10am–5:30pm; Sat, 10am–5pm (closed Sun)

This sweet southern boutique has been open in the heart of Alamo Heights since 2011. Located in the Sunset Ridge Shopping Center, Belles and Beaux has a large selection of upscale clothing for babies and children up to 12, as well as shoes, books, and gifts.

Their small team is made up entirely of moms and grandmothers—very safe and capable hands to help you find the perfect gift for a new baby, a baptism, birthday, or another special occasion. I love Belles and Beaux for their thoughtful and friendly service, and their beautifully curated selection of traditional clothing from the likes of Sal and Pimenta, Little English, Petit Bebe, and The Beaufort Bonnet Company. Add to that their classic heirloom embroidery, and you’ve got the kind of gifts a mom will store and treasure for a lifetime.

6. Rhode & Layne

5934 Broadway #2, San Antonio, TX 78209 | Open Mon–Fri, 10am–5pm; Sat, 11am–4pm (closed Sun)

Named after the middle names of their sons, Rhode & Layne is a relatively new children’s boutique on Broadway, owned and operated by a husband and wife team. They define their style as “Old World meets Modern Minimalism.”

Their selection is carefully curated and thoughtful, with pregnancy luxuries, mama + me items, gifts, toys, Christian books, skincare, linens, and clothing from baby to pre-teen. The main focus of Rhode & Layne is identifying brands that are eco-friendly, support fair working environments, and offer the highest quality.

It’s definitely worth dropping in to this serene boutique for quality, modern apparel and luxurious organic skincare, whether as gifts or for yourself.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this round-up of San Antonio’s sweetest boutiques for littles! What was the best gift you got at your baby shower? I’d love to hear! Leave me a comment below.
