San Antonio Instagram Feeds You Need to Follow

ACMBInsta

I’ve written about my love/hate relationship with Instagram before, but I thought I’d give you a little peek into the local feeds that I follow. I check Instagram way more than I check Facebook or any other social media. I love how quick it is for me to get through my feed and see what’s going on. I also love how visual it is. I don’t have to read comments if I don’t feel like it (in fact, I think Insta’s platform discourages it by how comments are consolidated).

When I first started using Instagram, I mostly followed people that I know. It was the perfect vehicle for me to keep up with friends and family. Recently, however, I’ve been expanding the feeds I follow, because they help to keep me in the loop for all kinds of things.

On Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, I find out about a lot of the sales for local businesses on Instagram. These are stores whose owners don’t have huge advertising budgets, so social media is a great way for them to get the word out. Instagram is also a great way to find out what’s going on locally. For example, I follow the Pearl Brewery, as well as a few vendors at the Saturday farmers’ market, which lets me know what’s at the market every Saturday morning.

So, here’s a list of local Instagram feeds I think you should be following:

  • Alamo City Moms Blog: I’m a little biased, but you wouldn’t be here if you didn’t already love ACMB! This feed showcases local events, plus there’s the ever-popular Takeover Tuesday, during which a member of our team takes control of Instagram to showcase 24 hours in the life of an ACMB mommy blogger.
  • San Antonio Tidbits: This is my favorite feed for letting me know about new stores and restaurants as well as local events (like where I got to meet Georgia Pellegrini!)
  • SA Charter Moms: Inga is one of the amazing contributors here, and her feed is full of happenings at the Botanical Gardens, the San Antonio Zoo, the Witte, etc. Plus, if you want to know what’s going on in education in the city, Inga is your best resource!
  • Pearl Brewery: This details for all the goings-on at the Pearl.
  • Central Market: I like following my favorite grocery store. It might be weird, but when citrus fest comes around you’re going to want to know what’s happening with the blood oranges!
  • Nordstrom La Cantera: This feed doesn’t post too often, so it won’t clog your feed, but last week they had a deal for a free specialty drink at the e-bar.
  • Fricks Picks: Frick is a stylist at Anthropologie, so her Insta feed is full of Anthro news, plus fun styling tips! Love her!
  • Bird Bakery: Bird will advertise last-minute deals on Instagram, so if you’re headed there, check your Instagram to see if they’re having any specials.
  • Baker Tatum: This gorgeous small store is purely eye candy for me!
  • Edible SA: If you want new and delicious places to eat, this is the feed for you.
  • Handmade Mood: Shameless plug for the feed that goes with the blog that I write with Amanda and our friend Candice. Pretty much al things gorgeous, crafty, and tasty!

That’s my list. I’d love to know what you’re favorite local Insta feeds are!
