The Best Birthday Party Venues for Kids in San Antonio

Sometimes the kindest thing I can do for myself and my family is paying for someone to operate the bulk of birthday party stress. The chaos at an organized venue is also usually a bit more contained, and my sanity stays mostly intact. I’ve spent quite a bit of time researching different venues for my own kids. Here are some you may not know about.

Birthdays at the San Antonio Botanical Garden

This is a great option for nature lovers. Located at the newly renovated Botanical Garden, this package includes full access to the gardens, plant themed crafts, and a garden attendant to help out. You get your choice of a log cabin, the beautiful Prickly Pear Pavilion, or the Education Tent. You’re allotted 2 hours, plus an extra 30 minutes before and after the party for set up/clean up. Legoland

A bit more on the expensive side, but it might be worth it if your kid is obsessed with Legos. The least expensive package, which is $450, includes admission for 25 people, an hour in a private birthday room, a birthday attendant, access to all play areas/rides, cake/beverage, and all party supplies. It actually includes a lot, which might make the price worth paying. It’s located in Rivercenter Mall downtown near the River Walk. My six-year-old son loves it here. It’s a very unique experience and might be worth the money. Click here for more info.

Clay Casa

Clay Casa is so intimate and easy. Have the parents drop the kids off for 1 1/2 hours while the kids craft something out of clay. You bring the cake, and an experienced artist will guide the kids through the craft. Two chaperones are allowed, and space can accommodate about 15 painters, possibly more for an extra charge. The Magik Theatre

My son has attended The Magik Theatre’s two-week summer camps for the past two years and thoroughly enjoys the program. This package includes a 1 1/2 hour party after a 2:00 pm performance. The birthday child is announced onstage, and you’re given a couple of free tickets for concessions. There’s also the option to pay an extra $100 to get your own personal teaching artist who leads 45 minutes of theatre games for all the kids. Click here for more info.

Kiddie Park

The Kiddie Park has been around since 1925, but they recently got a bit of a facelift after they relocated to The San Antonio Zoo. With a much better location and the same affordable prices, it’s a really good option. For $200 dollars you get 2 hours for up to 12 children, unlimited rides during your party, birthday party invitations, and a gift for the birthday child. Such a simple but fun place.
