20 Must-Try Cookie Shops in San Antonio

Sweet, and salted, and gooey, oh my! From homemade in Mom’s kitchen to special-ordered from a local baker, cookies are always the answer to a better mood—at least in our house!

I have two rowdy boys that can go from screaming and roughhousing to laughing and cuddling in a matter of seconds. When I’m trying to break up a wrestling match, I offer up my famous (and pretend homemade) slice n’ bake chocolate chip cookies. When I’m kissing a boo boo after a fall at the park, I offer up cookies from our favorite neighborhood spot. And when I’m making goodie baskets as tokens of thanks for teachers and friends, I seek out cookies from talented local bakers.

As you might have guessed by now, I lean on the love language of cookies a lot. And, based on our frequent posts about favorite cookie makers and bakers on Alamo City Moms Community + Conversation page, it seems like I’m not alone. After all, as Barbara Johnson said, “A balanced diet is a cookie in each hand.” I don’t disagree!

So, for all the cookie leaners and lovers out there, this one’s for you! We’ve rounded up a list of local cookie artisans based on recommendations from moms just like you on our community page. Personally, I’ve never met a cookie I didn’t like, and I’m eager to try out each of your recommendations for upcoming occasions and those ordinary days when you just need a little pick-me-up.
