Who says you can’t have fun for free? San Antonio has some amazing opportunities for families to enjoy free movies this summer. Whether you want to be inside or out, enjoying a mid-day flick or an evening under the stars, there’s an option for you. So grab your calendar and pencil in some of these dates!
Indoor Movies
Santikos Theaters
When it’s over 100 degrees outside, there is no better place to be than a nicely air-conditioned building with comfy chairs. Am I right? From June 7–July 27, you can watch a free movie at Santikos theaters on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m.! Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so I recommend arriving early.

Outdoor Movie Nights
Travis Park
Travis Park is offering its Movies by Moonlight program again this year every Tuesday in June and July. Come out for a Marvel-themed super time with your little heroes. Bring your blankets and/or lawn chairs to enjoy this free public event! Food trucks and activities begin at 7:00 p.m., and the movie starts at dusk. Free parking is also available after 5:00 p.m. in the St. Mary’s Street Garage.

Mission Marquee Plaza
Take in a complimentary movie at Mission Marquee Plaza! These movies are sponsored by The City of San Antonio World Heritage Office. “Doors” open at 7:00 p.m. and the movies start at dusk. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. Snacks and picnics are welcome, or you can purchase items at the food truck.

Will Naylor Smith River Walk Plaza at The Tobin Center
With generous support from H-E-B, the Tobin Center is offering FREE public movie nights on the second Friday of most months. The Plaza opens at 7:00 p.m. with the show starting at 8:00 p.m. Bring your blankets and/or lawn chairs to enjoy these outdoor movie nights.

There is nothing quite like a night under the Texas Hill Country stars… unless it comes with a free movie, too! Not only can you enjoy a free movie night, but you can also arrive early and enjoy some free entertainment! Pre-movie activities start at 7:00 p.m. and the movie begins at dark.
