While there are many, many places to eat in San Antonio that can accommodate a variety of food preferences, Lent brings a special season of meatless meals. There are several restaurants in the greater San Antonio area offering special Lenten menus, and meals to accommodate those abstaining from meat or partaking in “Fish Friday” from February 26 through the end of Lent on April 9. Not a seafood fan? ‘Tis the season for bean and cheese nachos, friends!

Alamo BBQ Company:
Best known for their family-friendly BBQ and playground, Two Bros also has crawfish in the rotation through Easter at their Alamo BBQ Co. location. Available 3:00 – close on Friday, all day Saturday, and on Sunday based on availability.
Melting Pot:
Those abstaining during Lent will find an array of dining options at The Melting Pot. Join them Fridays for their Lenten Special and enjoy a four-course experience including award-winning cheese fondue, freshly made salad, and seafood entrées including Atlantic Salmon, Sesame-Crusted Ahi Tuna, and Pacific White Shrimp. End the evening with decadent chocolate fondue for only $35 per person.
Davila’s BBQ:
Davila’s BBQ will offer an all you can eat catfish special every Friday during Lent. For $11.99 guests can have all the catfish they want along with coleslaw, french fries, and hush puppies as sides. This offering is valid all day on Fridays during Lent.
Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery:
During Lent, Southerleigh’s Cellarman’s Lunch Pail, which is a daily rotating lunch special with a main, side and soup/salad for $15, will instead be a daily seafood special to go with the season (the fish will vary daily). Additionally, guests can expect the usual seafood favorites at Southerleigh like its signature snapper throats, fresh oyster bar, shrimp boil, grilled redfish, and more.
Esquire Tavern:
A River Walk favorite since 1933, Esquire Tavern serves up several seafood specials to keep customers happy during Lent. Special items on the menu include the Fish & Chips with beer-battered cod and fries, the Shrimp Sandwich with saltine-breaded gulf shrimp on Texas toast, and the Shrimp Toast with gulf shrimp mousseline, chèvre and jalapeño jelly on white bread.
La Panaderia:
In honor of Lent this year, La Panaderia will be bringing back its Tuna Empanada for its patrons to enjoy. La Panadería will also offer Atún a la Vizcaína Torta with soup or salad throughout Lent. Both items will be available throughout the season.
Supper at Hotel Emma:
For dinner at Hotel Emma’s Supper, the restaurant will feature grilled whole Bronzino with salsa verde, green wheat, beans and herb salad for $26
EVO Entertainment:
EVO Entertainment in Schertz is a one-stop shop for food, drinks, and entertainment. During Lent, guests can enjoy a number of pescatarian menu items in their dining area or in the theaters. EVO’s Teriyaki Salmon ($14.00), Fried Shrimp Basket ($13.00), Blackened Shrimp Tacos ($13.00), and Grilled Shrimp ($13.50) make for great Lent-friendly items.

Throughout Lent and beyond, COVER 3 guests can enjoy a variety of signature, seafood-centric dishes available as both shareables and entrées at COVER 3’s Stone Oak location. Yummy, fresh, shareable seafood options and entrée options will have you covered through Lent.
