Coffee & Nature: Five Local Coffee Spots to Visit (On Your Way to SATX Nature Parks)

Summer, that glorious goldenrod of a season, is upon us. School schedules have given way to lazier days, with hopefully less traffic and more joy. These smaller, simpler moments have long been a favorite of mine, especially as we are never certain how long our military family will stay rooted in a place. Our days can be as open-ended and sporadic as we want them. These days can carry all the adventures, or they can be a place to break and reset as we spend day after day by the pool.

Something our family has done, and now especially as our boys get older, is to try to balance our lives with loads of outdoor time while also exploring and supporting local coffee shops in each new city. This summer, we’re doing double: exploring SATX coffee shops and the nature parks nearby.

If you’re like me, you might love an iced lavender latte to stunt the nuclear hotness from melting your morning. Here are some ideas to get your latte and greenbelt itinerary in order.
