Christmas at the Caverns

Alamo City Moms is excited to partner with Natural Bridge Caverns to bring you information about their Christmas at the Caverns event, happening now until December 23. This is a sponsored post.

Thanksgiving is over. You can breathe…just a little bit. It’s Christmas now! It’s go-go-go-time! Have you gotten your decorations down from the attic? Who’s hosting the family get-together this year? How many more pies do you have to make? That giant, the inflatable Minion with the Santa hat that the kids begged you for last year, isn’t going to put itself on the roof!

And, oh no, shopping! OK, be honest, you’re shopping from the comfort of your couch these days, so maybe you’ve got a little more free time than you think. Why not relax and take time to celebrate the holiday season and create lasting memories with your kiddos?

Grab the family and head to one of the more unique holiday events in the San Antonio area that’s packed with a little Christmas joy for all ages. Christmas at the Caverns is a winter wonderland experience nestled in the scenic Texas Hill Country at Natural Bridge Caverns. In case you haven’t been before, Natural Bridge Caverns is located just 15 minutes north of San Antonio in New Braunfels. Christmas at the Caverns is an evening event on weekends only, but it’s well worth planning your weekend around with all they have to offer.

Catch the festivities each Saturday and Sunday until Christmas. Here’s what kind of fun Christmas activities you can expect at Christmas at the Caverns, including a few new ones for 2019:

Caroling in the Caverns

Experience Christmas carols as you’ve never heard before! From 180 feet below, songs of the season echo within the majestic chambers of Natural Bridge Caverns. Featuring choirs and professional singing groups from all over Texas.

Ice Skating

New this year, and the only outdoor ice skating north of Travis Park in San Antonio to practice your toe jumps, camel spins, and figure eights while ice skating in the Texas Hill Country! Skates available in children’s and adults’ sizes. How often, if ever, do you get to experience ice skating outside in Texas?

Cowboy Christmas Hayride

Bring in the spirit of Christmas on our Cowboy Christmas Hayride. Meandering trails take you across the Wuest family’s ranch, with rural vistas and holiday scenes.

Underground Nativity Experience

Enjoy the true meaning of Christmas as you see and hear the story of the Nativity revealed underground in a multi-media show with video, music, and lights. The show is suitable for all ages.

Story Time with Santa

Haven’t got that Santa photo yet this year? Bring the kids for storytime with Santa. “Spelunker” Claus will be on hand during Christmas at the Caverns for photos and to read Christmas stories to the children. Visit and take your own photos for free!

Christmas Campfire

Gather family and friends in this festive area decorated in holiday decor and colorful lights. Enjoy games, s’ mores, and hot chocolate around the campfire.

Giant Snow Globe

It’s snowing in the Hill Country! Step into our huge snow globe for a fabulous and snowy Christmas photo to create a picture-perfect holiday card.

Speaking of photo opportunities, if a giant snow globe, an outdoor ice skating rink, or the natural beauty of the caverns isn’t enough, you won’t be able to miss the 30-foot-tall, fully decorated Christmas tree. Instagrammers and scrapbookers, rejoice!

Head out to the Hill Country and make some new, magical memories at Christmas at the Caverns this year. It is recommended that you purchase tickets in advance online and because this is the season of giving, a portion of all ticket sales will be donated to the San Antonio and New Braunfels Food Banks.
