2017 ACMB Favorite Things Party

Disclosure: This list is brought to you by our lineup of favorite local brands. Each one of these recommendations is a top pick of Alamo City Moms Blog’s, and we personally solicited all companies for inclusion.

If there’s anything better than treating yourself to your favorite things, it’s treating people you love to your favorite things! We scoured the city high and low to find our lineup for the 2017 Favorite Things party and, if I do say so myself, we’re quite pleased with our list! This year, we went—gasp!—out of state for one item (I know! But it’s SO GOOD!), and TWO of our favorite things came from within our own ACMB family. Check out Facebook and Instagram (#ACMBFavoriteThings) for more details and pictures AND for the awesome giveaway, in which one reader will win a stash of our favorite things! Be sure to toggle the images to see the goodies.

Without further ado, here are our 2017 #ACMBFavoriteThings:

Welcome to Bell Papel, where the invitation and stationery designs are as unique as the individuals, couples, families, and organizations they proudly call clients. Whether celebrating a wedding, birthday, gala, or the arrival of a new baby, Bell Papel creates beautiful paper for life’s beautiful days.

Bell Papel treated us to: Custom note cards with mom-centric sayings, like #Truth: In Coffee We Trust. Perfect for a note to a friend or a pick-me-up letter.

Bexar Wear was created from a desire to show pride in the owner’s heritage and hometown of San Antonio, Texas, via a damn comfortable T-shirt. Bexar Wear is new, and definitely a small operation, but watch out—your next favorite T-shirt will probably come from them!

Our favorite thing from Bexar Wear: New t-shirts made from the softest cotton EVER! Watch for the team wearing them around town in the next few weeks!

Author and ACMB Team Member Candice Curry published her first book, The Con Man’s Daughter, in the spring of 2017. Hers is a wonderful story of redemption following broken beginnings: “When Candice Curry was a little girl, she put her hand in her father’s back pocket so that she wouldn’t get lost in large crowds. Little did she know that as she followed him, he was plying his trade: conning people. Her family drove stolen cars, lived in stolen houses, and shopped with stolen credit cards. Drug use was regular, as were visits from strange people who were trying to track her father down. Though she eventually cut ties with her father, Candice could not ignore the scars that were left from her childhood.”

Candice gifted us with: Signed copies of her book! We know you’ll enjoy it as much as we will!

Cosmic Cakery offers “out of this world” custom cakes, cupcakes, and cakepops! Their cakepops, which are offered in more than 50 flavors, are individually baked, moist mini-cakes on a stick that are dipped in chocolate and topped with premium toppings. It’s no wonder why they have become a favorite in San Antonio and a staple item at parties and events throughout the city!

Cosmic Cakery treated us to: Delicious mini-cake pop bouquets for the team!

In The Weeds Natural Skin Care is a San Antonio-based business specializing in the creation of all-natural skin care products and candles using premium quality ingredients and essential oils.

Our favorite things from In The Weeds Natural Skin Care: The Purple Reign Hard Lotion Stick, made with organic chamomile flowers and lavender essential oil, which make it ideal for dry, itchy skin, also doubles as an insect repellent for very young children. Can we say win/win? Also, the Magi Hard Lotion Stick, made with frankincense and myrrh essential oils and gold mica. The oils help to mend skin tears and encourage skin regeneration, while the gold mica adds a beautiful shimmer to skin lacking luster.

Calling awesome dog moms! Katie’s Jar was founded in 2011 with the goal of providing fresh, preservative-free dog treats to the owner’s beagle, Katie. Her first biscuits and empanadas were a hit at the local farmer’s market, and Katie’s Jar has been in business ever since. Their current offerings include treats for grain-free, raw, vegan diets, and their menu rotates seasonally to include the freshest ingredients.

Katie’s Jar spoiled us with: Monthly Boxes for our canine companions! The Mini Box (three bags of treats) makes a wonderful gift, especially for dog-loving teachers! The Full Box (five bags) comes in a subscription plan and is delivered to your door every month. #ingredientsmatter
