A Fun Trip to the Dentist ~ Stone Oak Pediatric Dentistry {Sponsored}

I was told by my pediatrician that I needed to find a dentist for my two-year old son.  I kept putting this task off because, let’s be honest, a trip to the dentist with the little one isn’t the most fun thing to do…or so I thought!

Last week, I was able to visit the office of one of ACMB’s partners, Stone Oak and Dominion Pediatric Dentistry.   I immediately smiled when I walked through the door because this is not your ordinary dentist’s office!  It has been carefully designed for a specific group of clients: children.

The huge waiting room is filled with toys, books, and other items enticing to children of varying ages.  One side is arranged for young children and the other side is way more “cool”, for the tweens and adolescent patients.  In fact, the entire office is laid out in a way that there are little kid and big kid areas.  Definitely a great way to keep children of all ages happy!  There are also large windows in the waiting room, connecting it to the office area.  You can see everything that is going on in the two rooms to make it brighter, more welcoming, and less scary for the littlest patients.

When a child is getting his or her teeth cleaned in the main office, there is ample seating for parents to join them to reduce separation anxiety.  There are private rooms in the back that are equally as welcoming.  These rooms are for patients that are having more specific procedures than just a typical cleaning.  As we walked around, it was evident by the smiles of the patients, their parents, and the staff members that this place, a dentist’s office, is a happy place to be!

Another reason why ACMB loves Stone Oak Pediatric Dentistry is because it is a practice compromised of moms!  All four of the doctors have children of their own and 29 out of the 33 staff members are moms. I was able to talk to Dr. Courtney and having a three-year old herself really makes her think about each patient not only through the eyes of a doctor, but through the eyes of a mom.  This statement aligns directly with their motto: Caring for your children as if they were our own.  What mama wouldn’t want her child to be treated by such a nurturing group of doctors?

I enjoyed my visit to Stone Oak Pediatric Dentistry so much that I went ahead and made an appointment for my own little man!  I can say it was a great success based on the big smile on his face.  Not only that, we were in and out in about 30 minutes!

Thank you, Dr. Courtney and Stone Oak Pediatric Dentistry, for making what could have been a difficult experience such a positive and fun one!

{Note: SOPD is partners with ACMB, so the review of their office was sponsored.  My personal experience bringing my son was not complimentary.  I simply liked the office so much that I decided he needed to be a patient there!}

  1. We go to Stone Oak Pediatric Dentistry and are equally obsessed! The staff is fabulous, and my daughter still talks about getting a “birthday present” from them.
