Rise Inspire Academy provides a high quality education and a recovery-oriented student life for high school-aged youth. This innovative program, created by Rise Recovery and partner BRAINATION, is centered on high school students seeking sobriety from drugs and alcohol in a safe, understanding and positive academic environment. Rise Recovery is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to help teens, young adults and families overcome the effects of drugs and alcohol and partner with the community in education and prevention. Through support groups, recovery mentoring, peer coaching, prevention education and longstanding partnerships, Rise Recovery transforms the lives of thousands of individuals and families each year. BRAINATION is at the forefront of innovative facilitating and learning methods. They have redefined traditional approaches to education and are becoming a leader in world-class learning—helping students to become expert learners and leaders, encouraging students to lead principle-centered lives, and inspiring students to belong, be great, and find joy. A parent of one Rise Inspire Academy student expressed it best, “I was broken and desperate for a program like [this]. Jill R. Thurber, PhD, ABPP (or Dr. Jill as her clients call her) is a board-certified Child and Adolescent Psychologist who obtained her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Jill completed her child and pediatric psychology residency at the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles before graduating with her Ph.D. She then went on to complete a fellowship in child and pediatric psychology at the APA-accredited program at The Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Dr. Jill uses a relationship-based approach when working with her clients. She integrates tenets from psychodynamic and attachment-based theories when conceptualizing treatment. Dr. Jill uses therapeutic tools which are found to be the most effective for the unique presenting problem. Camp Metro Day Camp sessions are held at the West Side Girl Scout Leadership Center in San Antonio. Girls will get hands-on experience and explore skills in a variety of areas including community service, cultural arts, healthy living, environmental awareness, STEM and so much more!
Our camp offers a unique week-long stay in the beautiful Texas Hill Country for boys and girls ages 6-18.
