The Montessori School of San Antonio (MSSA) builds on the philosophical and psychological principles developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. At MSSA we recognize that development comes through the student’s own activity and that the faculty’s task is to carefully guide that activity within an environment specially prepared according to the student’s particular stage of development.
Montessori at MSSA is an education that is both nurturing and rigorous, respecting each student’s unique pace and style of learning while continually encouraging each child to reach his/her maximum potential. It is an education that addresses the critical integration of knowledge, skills, understanding, and moral action.
Anne Frank Inspire Academy (AFIA) schools provide tuition-free K–12 education dedicated to reimagining and transforming learning. AFIA crafts world leaders of tomorrow through rigorous and innovative curricula, creative collaboration, guided learning, and an inquiry-driven model. There are now two AFIA campuses: AFIA – NW Military (K-5) and AFIA – Bandera Rd (K-12).

We offer a STEM-infused liberal arts curriculum, a co-teaching model for the primary grades, and a wide variety of academic courses and extracurricular activities. The Gathering Place is a revolutionary new elementary school in San Antonio. The idea was born from Asia Klekowicz and Ryan York’s belief that kids, especially in historically underserved neighborhoods, don’t get a complete education. We spent 10 years teaching, leading, and seeing glimmers of what could be when teachers are trusted, kids are loved for who they are, and administrators don’t measure students by just test scores — but we never saw those pieces fully come together.
Inspired by what could be and disappointed by what was, we quit our jobs, pooled our savings, and traveled the country searching for schools where creativity flourished and every student and teacher was valued. On our journey, we found ourselves in San Antonio, fell in love with the people, and decided never to leave.
We have seen and learned from the best– but we have yet to find what we know can be. So we’ve decided to build it. We have created a new school. A school we wish was around when we were kids, a school we wished existed when we were teachers, a school that all children deserve.
We are San Antonio’s first and only dual language Catholic school. We recently received national recognition when the Newman Society named us as one of twelve Catholic schools in the entire country to be named to its National Honor Roll for excellence in faith, academics and service. Our community is diverse and dynamic, but we are united in being mission driven for college and heaven. We partner with University of the Incarnate Word, Boston College, University of Notre Dame, UTSA and Pre-K 4 SA to advance this mission. Students may enroll starting at 3 years old!
CLDS has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children since 1996. We are honored to be among the few San Antonio preschools to receive this recognition. We take great pride in providing your child with the highest quality of education in a loving and nurturing environment.
Christ Lutheran Day School’s curriculum philosophy is based upon the following principles:
- Developmentally appropriate practices as established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
- A focus on the whole child – to include development in the areas of literacy, sensory organization, motor activity, social-emotional development, and approach to learning.
- A belief that children develop through a developmental continuum, rather than accomplishing a particular skill set all at once.
Christ Lutheran Day School has created a curriculum that looks at each child’s individual needs and goals to help scaffold him/her to his/her fullest learning potential.

Camp Champions is one of the top overnight camps in Texas, offering 1-, 2-, and 3-week sessions for campers aged 5-17.
In addition to exciting activities and an outstanding facility, Camp Champions (1) builds strong kids, (2) has the best staff, and (3) operates tech-free.
- Camp Champions builds strong kids.
When we talk about “building strong kids”, we mean campers who have grown the skills to excel in school, build strong friendships, and become good decision-makers.
We are one of just four camps in the country to be named an Exemplar Program by the Partnership for 21st Century Learning (P21.org).
- Camp Champions has the best counselors.
There are two things we do differently to develop the best staff:
First, Camp Champions counselors commit to not drinking alcohol for the duration of the summer, including on off time.
Second, our counselors have a full two week orientation, the longest training of any camp we know of.
- Camp Champions operates tech-free
We know that overexposure to screens and social media is causing negative health outcomes for kids (both physical and emotional). We know that this is only getting worse.
Camp is one of the few places left where we can cut the technological umbilical cord and kids (and even teenagers!) will thank us for it. Showing kids that they can be spectacular without a phone in their hands may be one of the most important outcomes of camp in 2023.

I am a mom empowering motherhood, a big-time childhood enthusiast, a so easily inspired photographer!
I’m not just looking for a beautiful portrait of your child or family. I’m looking for meaningful portraits of the way your son holds your face with his tiny hands when he says, “I love you, mom!”. I’m looking for meaningful photographs of your daughter dancing in daddy’s arms. It’s about the wind in the hair as the music moves her to dance and sway. It’s about giggling, hurriedly feet fleeing away as you chase for tickling.
It’s about those special reminders of happiness and knowing how ridiculously in love you are with your family right now because one day, you will not have them around anymore.
The time to make memories is NOW, while they are still little.
