Preserving Family Memories – The Easy Way

The summer between sophomore and junior year in college, my roommate Katie and I scrapbooked our summer away. In between summer school classes, we’d marathon-watch movies and cut, glue, embellish, and tape our memories from the last year onto 12×12 pages and put them in our three post binders. We spend a LOT (like, a TON!) of time and almost as much money to preserve our memories – a very worthwhile use of that time and money.

But these days? I’m lucky if I remember to print my pictures – much less have time to scrapbook them! Which is why I love the Project Life system. I want to make super clear that this is NOT a sponsored post and there are zero affiliate links. I just love this system THAT much and I think that other busy moms will appreciate the ease of use and the satisfaction of documenting their families lives. Your family’s history deserves to be preserved!

A little about Project Life:

It requires no glue, no scissors, no tools, and no skills of any kind. The design of our products takes the guess-work out of layout design so that you can focus on recording your everyday moments through your photos and journaling. All you need is one of our Core Kits, an Album, and a Big Pack of 60 Photo Pocket Pages. By pairing your pictures and memories with these basic products, you will be able to document your story in a hassle-free system that results in a complete and beautiful scrapbook. The Project Life line of products has grown to also include many other items that enhance the memory-keeping process for those who want to do more.

All you need for an ENTIRE year of memory keeping is a 12×12 three-ring binder, a core kit and photo pocket pages.

Since most of my day-to-day pictures are taken on my phone, I print them in monthly batches through the Mpix iphone app. Many high volume commercial printers have apps as well – but I love the archival quality of Mpix!

Then, literally, you just slide the pictures in, add the pretty cards from your core kits and BOOM! You’re done.

This is my friend Candice’s first page from this year – she documented each of her family member’s 2014 goals.

A quick Pinterest search will bring up SO many examples of the creative ways Project Life is being used to tell a family’s story.

I found Project Life last year and took the plunge in late summer. It literally took me one evening at a Project Life party with friends and two nap-times to completely organize and “scrapbook” TWO YEARS worth of photos! Petite LOVES to look at the books and I love that she has them to look at!

If you’re interested in starting your own Project Life book, the supplies are carried at Hobby Lobby and Michael’s locally, with JoAnne’s not far behind as well as online on Amazon and at BeckyHiggins.com.
